David Bermudez
Professor of Theoretical Physics
About me
I am a Professor of Theoretical Physics at the Department of Physics of the Center for Research and Advanced Studies (Cinvestav) in Mexico City. I received my MSc in 2010 and my PhD in 2013, both from Cinvestav. Afterwards, I was a postdoctoral fellow at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel from 2013 to 2015.
My current research focuses on analogue gravity, mainly using light pulses in optical fibers to study quantum field theory in curved spacetimes. This field combines quantum theory, nonlinear optics, and general relativity to study phenomena usually associated with gravity in optical systems. I work with my students on theoretical and numerical studies in close collaboration with experiments.
